From the moment you arrive at the property, you’re greeted with an expansive window at check in serving up incredible South Tyrol mountain views; providing you with a true sense of arrival after the long journey. This hotel is family operated and you can sense that through the interactions with the staff throughout your stay and the story told through photographs hanging on the walls.

Each space is so thoughtfully designed, each guest room offering a number of spaces to unwind on the private terrace or in the windowed alcove; the bar area that greets you with a stunning fireplace centerpiece and booths with built in games to bring out your inner child; the indoor pool enclosed in glass that leads you to an outdoor infinity pool with breathtaking views.

Santre is the type of place that welcomes you in with a warmness and encourages you to stay awhile, releasing yourself of any prior agendas and simply being.

the comforts

The hotel’s spaces are designed with wellness in mind and inspired by the surrounding natural environment. The rooms are warm and inviting, featuring in-room reading nooks and windows that offer expansive mountain views. Each room includes a balcony or terrace, with some even featuring a private jacuzzi.

the amenities

You’ll discover countless spaces for rest and connection thoughtfully scattered throughout the property, including an impressive two-story, 2,000m² wellness area. A mythical garden featuring a natural pool, a 22m-long indoor and outdoor infinity pool, an adults-only panoramic hot tub, a Finnish sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows, a steam sauna, a herbal clay sauna, a cold plunge, and a well-equipped gym are just some of the amenities offered.

Don’t forget to check out the welcome board at check in to discover the adventure and wellness activities (from sunrise hikes to aufguss rituals) that you can sign up for during your stay.

the neighborhood

While the property is located near the town of Bressanone/Brixen, in the charming village of Sant’Andrea—just a 10-minute drive away—and close to popular sights, you’ll find yourself blissfully content soaking up every moment there. The long winding road up the mountain from the town creates a sense of seclusion.

You’ll find Mount Plose just a 10-15 minute drive away and, upon check in, you’re gifted a Guestpass BrixenCard which grants you complimentary access to the town’s public transport, the mountain, museums and more. Thanks to the hotel’s central location, you’re a short drive away from Western part of the Dolomite’s favorited spots.

the people

Travelers visiting Santre come from all walks of life—families seeking a unique mountain escape, couples wanting a relaxing retreat, and friends embarking on an adventurous getaway. Despite their diverse backgrounds, they all share a common desire for warm hospitality and a holistic approach to luxury. While the experience is elevated, it isn’t pretentious; guests are typically down-to-earth and seek a transformative stay for the mind, body, soul, and a connection to nature.

the tastes

Typically when a stay offers half or full board covering meals, the presented dishes can feel a bit lackluster. At Santre, breakfast and dinner are included in your stay and offer a beautiful blend of locally sourced and seasonal goods. Their breakfast spread, served from 7:30am to 11:00am, go beyond your typical ‘breakfast included’ hotel experience; a juicer to create your own fresh juices, a gourmet buffet bar, as well as an à la carte menu. Dinners feature a 5-course experience with three set menus to choose from, with menus rotating each night: fish and meat, vegan, or South Tyrolean specialties. Dishes were packed with creativity and flavor, which I found incredibly refreshing, especially for the vegan dining option.

Each meal can be enjoyed from their expansive dining room or on the outside terrace, taking in the Isarco Valley views. After dinner, you can make your way to lounge.bar 67 for a nightcap, play games, or simply wind down by the fireside or on the terrace, listening to live music. Their cocktail menu is beautifully crafted, providing a number of unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

the responsibility

Sustainability is woven into the core of Santre and while it is subtle, their mission is clear. You’ll notice thoughtful in-room amenities like a locally-sourced shampoo and body bar, along with an in-room glass jar of water and a natural mountain water fountain at check in to eliminate plastic use. At check out, you’re gifted a jar of honey from their on-property beehive. One of my favorite features in particular was their natural swimming pool in the mythic.garden.
